About

The match archive

GOAT Database keeps a complete, chronological record of every match played by the footballers people argue about most. Each player page is a game-by-game log: the competition, the ground, the scoreline, who scored, who refereed and how the career totals built up season after season.

The dashboards are generated straight from the match log, so every filter you apply — a season, a competition, a single opponent — redraws the numbers and charts immediately. Nothing is hand-written: if a match is in the log, it counts.

Data is compiled from public match records and is updated by hand through our admin tools. We aim for accuracy but treat the archive as a reference, not an official record. If something looks wrong, tell us and we will check it.

How the data is compiled. Match records are compiled and checked by the GOAT Database team from public match reports. If you spot an error, email goatdatabase26@gmail.com and we will review it.

The site is supported by advertising. Ads are clearly marked and never interrupt the match log itself.
